Getting Around

Getting out and about is easy when you know how. Even if you do not have a car this area has lots to offer by way of public transport, a great tram service and regular bus routes.

The Tram takes a coastal route from Alicante to Denia and runs very regularly. It is lovely to just take this trip even if you do not stop off along the way but why not explore somewhere new and spend a day in another town.

The route of the Tram calls at many stations in between these main ones that we have listed. You can get on the tram at any station and go North or South.

Take the Bus and enjoy the scenery and more of the inland towns.

There is a great circular service that runs from Benidorm, Alfaz del Pi, Albir, Altea and Altea La Vella and back again. A great route to get you round to visit a different market every day or to enjoy another beach or evening restaurant. The service is known as the “Number 10” and runs approximately every 15 minutes from various numbered stops in these towns. It is inexpensive too, the same price for however long you stay on the bus.

Benidorm open top bus is another great way to travel. The tourist bus has commentary in many different languages by way of the complimentary headsets and the tour will take you through the town of Benidorm, La Cala, Albir and Altea giving you points of interest along the way and history of the towns and their development over the years. There are two routes to choose from and you can pick up a bus from a number 30 or 31 bus stop which you can find in La Cala, Benidorm Rincon and centre, Altea and Albir. A fun day out.

The Number 11 bus will take you to the water park of Aqualandia and Mundo Mar zoo. You can pick up the bus as the bus station or routes in Benidorm , look out for this stop number. The Number 1 and 15 route will also take you to the water park or Terra Mitica too.

You don’t have to stay by the coast, why not take the bus to the wonderful mountain top town of guadalest or visit the water falls at Algar. These buses run regularly through the day and start from La Cala, Benidorm or la Nucia, look out for the number 16 and 18 bus stops.

A taxi is an easy way to travel and these can be found at many ranks throughout the towns. If you telephone a taxi to collect you, the operator will give you a number and this will be displayed on top of the car when he arrives so you can make sure you get into the correct one.
A taxi will show green numbers when he is available for hire and red when he is already taken.
