Villajoyosa

This is a colourful and unique old fishing town and is now also a chocoholics paradise! You can smell the distinctive aroma of chocolate as you enter the town. Spend the morning getting to know all about Villajoyosa´s rich chocolate history and visit one (or more!) of the chocolate factories, Valor being the most popular! Whilst you are enjoying a leisurely stroll along the sea front why not stop and order yourself the local specialty Chocolate with Churros! This sweet bread is the ideal companion for a cup of hot chocolate.

The old part of town is called the Arsenal and is situated on the shore. Take a walk around the narrow streets with lively colored houses built on the side of the river bank. The history of this was so that the fishermen could spot their own homes when out at sea.

Enjoy the miles of sandy golden beaches, above all, the beach of Paraiso, the area is also well known for windsurfing and water sports and the town itself is lively and bustling with a market held every Thursday.
